Spammers Make Me LOL
At the risk of inviting more of the same, I want to share a few funny spam comments I received regarding a post on another site. My spammers don’t seem to be reaching their target audience. These fail on so many levels… Enjoy.
My original post appeared in a “News” category:
Executive Board Meeting Changed:
Our February Executive Board meeting will NOT be on Monday, February 14, but on MONDAY, February 7, due to a change in the school board meeting schedule for the month of February. Please make this change in your calendars.
And here are the astute spam comments:
from creditpaydayloans: “Very well written information. It will be beneficial to anybody who usess it, as well as myself. Keep up the good work – i will definitely read more posts.”
Thanks! It is great to know that I am supplying beneficial and well-written information.
from Malepenisenlargementpills: “Hey there, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Alan & I wanted to let you know that your site is excellent! I’m a frequent reader actually and I think it is so great, that I’ve actually gone ahead and linked to your site (and yes, it is a Do-Follow link) from my website here: (Link truncated – ’cause I don’t give business to spammers!) anyways, you can see the link there & kudos to you for having such a wonderful site!”
Wow. I didn’t know a changed calendar could create such, um… happiness. Oddly, I really want to tell this guy that it is not his business that intrigues me, but the fact that he used the word “so” correctly. Now that is something ya’ don’t see every day!
from mydoghasgotfleasonit333; “Thanks for the post I actually learned something from it. Very good content on this site Always looking forward to new post.”
I’m not sure what you learned, but I am genuinely sorry I couldn’t help with your flea problem. You are welcome to come to the board meeting and ask whether any others have ideas that might help you.
from Traveloffers.shutterfly: “Hi I love this post and it was so good and I am gonna bookmark it. I Have to say the Superb analysis you have done is greatly remarkable.Who goes that extra mile these days? Bravo!!! Just another tip you canget a Translator Application for your Global Readers “
I am always willing to go that extra mile. Like right now, when I feel the need to explain that you may be confused about the definition of the word, “analysis.” Really. You should look that one up. I just posted a couple of facts (1. Meeting date changed. 2. Meeting changed due to school board schedule change) and a suggestion (make this change in your calendars). There was no analysis. Yes, I’m sure.
Also, a “tip” usually refers to something useful. I doubt I will be needing a translator app for my global readers, since the executive board is made up of 20 people who all live in the same town. But thanks for the suggestion.
from infometr: “This is an amazing article with some much insight. Thank you for sharing. The importance of understanding what influences visitors is paramount to a successful online business…. and you have help others understand this important concept! Continue the excellent work!”
AKA: More proof that the word “amazing” is amazingly overused.
from best21: “Hello,well-written article. Infos are pretty useful and saved me many time which I have spend on something else instead of searching posts like this Im waiting for more, bye “
I had no idea people were spending so much time searching for calendar changes. Who knew?!
from best-paydayloans: “You are a very smart individual!”
Finally! I have been trying to tell people this for years! Obviously, you are pretty smart, too.
And now you know: Spam isn’t just clogging our arteries and our “internets”- it is also great for rainy-day fun.
